SXSW thoughts from a first time attendee

It’s Sunday.  I’ve been here in Austin since (late) Thursday night and wow this is an experience.  Yesterday I didn’t catch a single panel, and I didn’t mind at all.  The BlogHaus was where people were hanging out and chatting and, well the chances of learning something cool was pretty good.
Today I got up bright […]

SXSW first (part) day recap

It’s morning here in Austin.  Why no live blogging from yesterday?  Well there wasn’t much to live blog.  The sessions didn’t start until 3:30 (because badge pickup started at 10 AM) , I’m told that badge pickup at SXSW is always insane-I wasn’t disappointed, it was long.  About an hour.  But I have my badge, […]

Looking forward to the Building Developer-Friendly Web Service APIs panel at SXSW

Morning from SXSW.  I’ll have my travel and early morning pics up soon, but we’re all here at the b5media ranch hanging out waiting for Aaron and Mark to arrive.  I haven’t even begun to think about what sessions I’m going to, well besides a couple that hit my attention.
I saw on the Dabble blog […]

We should have a Vancouver-Canadian blog meetup at SXSWi

If all goes according to the (by the seat of my pants) plan I’ll be attending my first SXSWi this week.  I’m going to be doing double duty there covering it for b5media (therefore blogging here) and for Intruders Canada (Intruders is sending me there).
I’ll be a little busy I’m guessing, but I think we […]

Good feedback on the Affiliate Summit social media panel

It’s always good, crucial I think, to read what other people think about your panel.  I usually think it has gone well, but always hard to know if you’ve hit the mark.  In my wrap up post, I focused on us not being able to give the “magic formula” for people.  Joe Tech got some […]

Loving the Segway at Affiliate Summit!

Until this week I had never ridden a Segway.  Well, thanks to Shawn, now I have.  They are cool, but getting on them the first time is a little tough.  Shawn’s video doesn’t have me doing turns in reverse, but man it was fun:

Now, I wonder if could get one here in Victoria.  […]

Affiliate Summit wrap up–whole new world and we can learn from each other

Back home now from Affiliate Summit and I’m still processing what I learned.  Some of our pre-conceived notions are correct.  There are some affiliate marketers who are just out for the quick buck and don’t care about how it’s done, however I feel that they are in the minority of folks.
I also know now that […]

Affiliate Summit Media Coverage Panel

Media coverage on the Internet, and print, is always a hot topic.  How do you handle an advertiser who wants coverage after buying a full-page ad?
Some of the comments so far are great.  Send us a case study, make sure it’s of value to my readers, is it newsworthy.
Andrew Wee mentioned that in smaller publications […]
