Robin Hood 2.0
Calgary-based Cambrian House, which is positioning itself as a “leadign commercial crowdsourcing software company”, has launched a new project called the Robinhood Fund. The “crowdsourced charity” works by having people submit a wish at RobinhoodFund.com, as well as vote on the wishes they would like to see happen. The most popular wishes are then granted. Among the wish categores are Twist of Fate; Health and Wellness; Me, Myself and I; Help Me Help Others, and a sponsored Weekly Wish topic. While Cambrian House may yet to be a leading commercial crowdsourcing software company, it is proving itself to be a savvy marketing company. A few months ago, it sent pizzas to Google as “random act of recognition”. Cambrian House also has a National Viking Assocation to recognize companies and individuals who make a contribution to the Web.
