Sneakerplay is Cool

I love to hear cool start-up stories. At mesh today, Sneakerplay’s Robleh Jama rocked house during 15 Minutes of Fame by talking about the invite-only social networking aimed at people into sneakers, street culture and street fashion. The company was spawned during a conversation Robleh and a friend had last February about, not surprisingly, sneakers. One thing led to another and the service was launched last September. So far, it’s attracted 10,000 users who have generated several million pageviews. The Toronto-based company has partnered with Nike, NikeID, Adidas, Footlocker and Karmaloop, and garnered media coverage from the National Post, Wall St. Journal, USA Today and Vancouver Sun.
