What are you doing? The question that Twitter answers, but it’s more than that
Lee and Sachi posted another of their great “x in plain English” videos and today it’s Twitter–Video: Twitter in Plain English | Common Craft - Explanations In Plain English.
Since Lee and Sachi work really hard at keeping things simple, they missed what I like most about Twitter: fast information and connections.
Like this morning … I checked Twitter on my Blackberry (I use the mobile web interface) and saw that Kim Haynes wanted to know if folks would be into (and up for) a SXSW Tweet up on Saturday morning. I sent her a direct message that, yes I would.
Mary Hodder commented that Twitter is keeping her up to date on SXSW info and other interesting tidbits.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. For me Twitter is, like Lee said, that space between blog posts and email. It becomes a way to organize quickly. Read the backchannel at a conference and catch breaking news.
So, Lee and Sachi didn’t cover it all, but it is still fun to watch … maybe we need “Power Twittering in Plain English”. Hmm, that might wind up not being so plain, eh?

Twitter is definitely one of the fastest places to both communicate and get news - both fun and realistic news.
